WHAT IS CREATIVE EXCHANGE?

Established in 2016, the Creative Exchange is an excellent meeting place to ‘exchange’ empowering ideas between a diverse group of global experts and aspiring creatives from and around the Sacramento area. The Creative Exchange gives young entrepreneurs and creatives of color, access to leaders in the creative space. These leaders have the type of information, and ‘real world’ experience attendees need as they consider career paths. The panelist and moderators are all experts from the Music, Film, Cryptocurrency, and Social Media industries.

To address the current interests and challenges of our target audience in 2022, we have added additional panels and discussions that speak to the gravity of COVID-19 and the importance of getting themselves and their loved ones vaccinated. We have also included discussions on financial literacy, the ever-growing interests in NFTs’ (Non-Fungible Tokens) as well as mental health concerns in communities of color. 

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER: Jay King is a Grammy Award winning, platinum selling singer, songwriter and producer-who also happens to be the founder and member of Club Nouveau who continues to perform and tour. He has ushered in some of Billboard's highest selling hits such as "Rumors", "Lean On Me" and "Situation #9".  He was elected CEO/President of the California Black Chamber of Commerce (CBCC) in June of 2019. A

As the largest African American non-profit business organization, representing thousands of small and emerging businesses, affiliates and chambers of commerce throughout California, the CBCC is extremely concerned about the aftermath of COVID-19 and the recent civil unrest which has immobilized and shut down businesses around the world. As an artist and longtime activist for the underrepresented for over three decades, King was found to be uniquely well equipped to take the Chamber to the next level in terms of advocacy and outreach.
